While Brandyn attended Franklin of Elk Grove High School, he was highly recruited as a junior and senior athlete. Approximately 23 colleges and universities from all over the country responded with interest in Brandyn playing football for their schools. However, after a “trip” to Boise State University, he committed to the Broncos. In December 2007 (Brandyn’s Freshman year), Boise State lost the WAC Championship to the University of Hawaii. This was a day Brandyn never forgot.
As a result, Brandyn trained hard for the fall 2008 season with an emphasis on facing Hawaii. At the end of that game, Brandyn had 5 solo tackles and 3 interceptions. This performance brought him national attention and he honored as the WAC defensive player of the week. More importantly, in the spring 2008, Brandyn received honors as a member of the All-WAC Academic team with a 3.3 GPA. This was accomplished as he pursues a degree in Media Communications. Brandyn’s hard work in the classroom and on the field has made him True Grit Sports Conditioning’s player of the month.
